When to come and What to bring and How to get here



Gathering Health Protocol
We're free now of the mask and vaccination requirements we had last time
But feel free to bring and wear your masks if you prefer. The Virus is still out there.



Hotel check-in starts at 3:00 pm

If you plan to arrive earlier, please note the following:
  • The dining room is NOT open to the public for lunch. So if you're planning to arrive around lunch time, you may want to check out Gananoque, a short drive west of the Resort.

  • Or stop for lunch along the way

  • The Bar opens at 4:00 on Friday, in case you wanted to know that.

Registration starts at 3:30pm and runs until 5:30.

  • Registration takes place in the Admiralty Room, upstairs
  • You will receive your name tag and Gathering booklet with a full schedule
  • Anyone arriving later can pick up their registration package after dinner.
Things to bring to registration:
  • Your name tag holder from previous Gatherings. (we'll have some for newbies)

  • Your Exchange Gift
    • Check full details here
    • Please pack it in a clear package with your name and scale on it.
    • Remember, it must be able to fit in a brown paper sandwich bag.

  • Swaps:
    • Swaps must be handed in before dinner on Friday, so Barb can have time to make up all the bags.

  • Auction Items
    • Bring your donations with you to give to April

Display room Set up: 3:30 - 5:30 upstairs in Navy/Lakefleet Room
  • Your display(s):
    • Take your labelled displays to the Navy/Lakefleet Room upstairs
    • Hand them directly to Adrian or Elizabeth
    • Important: you must read the Display Room Rules here

  • Night at the Museum display.
    • We're not competing this year. We just want to see your lovely imaginative display
    • When you hand it in to Adrian or Elizabeth, be sure to tell them it's for the Night at the Museum Display

Artisan tables Set up: 3:30 - 5:30 upstairs in the Navy/Lakefleet Room

  • You will need your own table covering and
  • if you're bringing lighting, you'll need an extension cord
Gathering Helpers: 3:30 - 5:30 - in the Dining Room

  • If you are donating a Helper, please let Susan know ahead of time, if you haven't already.

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU
  • Everything listed above, plus...

  • Tool kit for your Registered Workshops and Quick Kits (the usual kit, or what your instructor told you)

  • UFOs - your Unfinished Objects to work on if you're not taking a registered workshop

  • Table Gifts for Saturday Night Dinner

  • Money for the Artisan Market and Quick Kits and Bar.
    Please help the artisans by bringing some small bills and loonies and toonies

  • Bathing suit, for the pool or hot tub

  • Snacks (including wine) for your room

  • Saturday Night Banquet Costume



Glen House Resort: How to find it (or click here for directions at the hotel website)

From Ottawa (via 416 south to 401 west) or Montreal; via 401 West
  • Travel westbound 401, approximately 25 minutes past Brockville.
  • Travel past the exit for the bridge to the USA and exit #659 (sign says to Lansdowne, Reynolds road).
  • At the off ramp stop sign turn left (south) and travel on Reynolds road for approximately 3 kms.
  • At the end of the road at the stop sign turn right and travel 5 km westbound on the Thousand Islands Parkway.
  • Look for the Glen House sign and entrance on the left or south side (river side) of the road.
From Kingston or Toronto area (travelling 401 East) :
  • Travel eastbound 401, approximately 20 minutes past Kingston.
  • Take exit 647 Thousand Islands Parkway eastbound (sign says to Ivy Lea and Rockport).
  • Stay on this scenic parkway highway for approximately 10 km.
  • Look for the Glen House sign and entrance on the right side or south side (river side).
From the U.S.A. (Entering from 1000 Islands Bridge and route 81 north):
  • Enter Canada by travelling over the 1000 Islands Bridge.
  • After clearing customs and the Canadian span of the bridge, exit right onto the Thousand Islands Parkway Westbound (this is the 2nd exit once in Canada; the first is Thousand Islands Parkway Eastbound).
  • Travel west on the parkway for approximately 5 km.
  • Look for the Glen House sign and entrance on the left or south side (river side) of the road.
