Our Home and Miniature Land

Yes, fellow miniaturists, this is IT!

Attendees of Miniatures Gathering 2019 are being offered a rare opportunity to get a wonderful preview of the Newest Biggest Little Tourist Attraction to come to Toronto.

It is not yet open to the public but we can have a back stage tour at its current facility in nearby Mississauga.

Some of our miniature friends have been involved with the project for a long time.

If you think you might join us for the tour, please tick off the box on the Registration Form

Visit the website for a sneak peak

Once completed the project will be moving to its permanent home in Toronto.

It is Canada as you have never seen before. Once completed it will be a cross country tour of Canada, from the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, to the CN Tower in Toronto, the Welland Canal, Niagara Falls, across the Prairies and the Rockies, right out to Vancouver Island.
All built in Miniature!

You might have heard of the Miniatur-Wunderland in Hamburg Germany. This will be its Canadian cousin.

Welcome to our Home Contest

Meet our Mooscot

We will have a special guest with us this weekend. A fabulous Moose.

But right now, he's Anonymoose.

We're looking to you to give him an identity. If you have a name to suggest, please fill it out on the registration form (plus, if you like, the story behind the name)

He will decide which name he likes best, and we'll announce it at the gathering.

Workshops

Saturday during the day, as well as Sunday Morning, are the times for working on workshops.
  • You can enrol ahead of time for a Registered Workshop or two
  •   --all day Saturday or Saturday & Sunday Morning or Sunday Morning
  • Work on a Quick Kit or two
  • bring one of your own projects to work on at the UFO Table

Quick Kits

We always have a wonderful selection of Quick Kit Workshops from our attendees, to work on at the Gathering or to take home with you.

If you'd like to submit a Quick Kit idea for approval, please complete the Time and Talent portion of the Registration Form or contact Janet Harvie.

Kits are generally in the $5 to $10 dollar range, though it could be more.

She must receive your information by March 15, 2019.

Saturday Night Banquet

Join us for the Saturday Night Red & White Gala

We're expecting a Who's Who of Canadians (both illustrious and infamous, fictional and real) to show up. This means you!

Artisans Market

The Artisans Market will take place Saturday Night only from 9:00 to 10:30.

To find out more, or to reserve a table for your hand-crafted sale items, click here.

Table Gifts

You have the option to sit at a 1 inch scale table or ¼ inch scale table.

Increase your own, and everybody else's, enjoyment of the Gathering by following the Saturday night tradition of exchanging small gifts with the seven other people at your table. Please remember what scale table you are sitting at and have gifts in that scale.

While a value of $3-5 is suggested, most are handmade items which are valued by the recipients as a wonderful reminder of the Gathering.

Giving is optional.

Gathering Helpers

Gathering Helpers are items raffled off to help with current gathering expenses, donated by clubs, groups or individuals. They could be a small room box or vignette, or a single piece such as a dressed doll, a special piece of furniture, or a very nice accessory piece.

They usually run at a value of at least $50, but many are worth far more. The Gathering Helpers are kept on display throughout the weekend while the tickets are being sold. The winning tickets are pulled at the Sunday lunch.

They need not be theme related

If you wish to donate one, please complete the Time and Talent portion of the Registration Form or contact Susan Williamson

Display Room

You've been busy as a beaver all year long, working on your wonderful projects; now is the time to share with your friends, and see what they've been up to.

Everybody loves to see what other people have been doing, so we hope to have lots of displays: room boxes, dollhouses or individual items.

If you plan to bring something, please complete the Time and Talent portion of your Registration Form or contact Adrian.

Let us know the size, and if you need an outlet. Please bring your own lighting and extension cord.

Be sure to include a card with some information about it.

Volunteers

We could not possibly run the Gathering without lots of volunteers to handle small but mighty tasks.

It's a great way to get involved.

Click here to find out the many ways you can help out as a volunteer.

Exchange Gifts

You can bring a gift for another lucky miniaturist, of a value of around $20.

Bring something in 1 inch or 1/4 inch scale (not both please) and you will receive in exchange a gift in the same scale. Please, no books or kits.

The Gift Exchange Process is being revised this year to include prominent display of all gifts in advance, so be sure to have your name clearly displayed on the see-through package.

Contact Barb or Harriet with any questions

But Wait--There's More!

Don't forget about the Mini Swap

And, NEW THIS YEAR ....we're adding a LIVE, NOISY AUCTION to our regular Silent Auction
